How to reach valparai??

There are mainly two routes to valparai.
1. From pollachi(tamilnadu)
2. From chalakkudi(kerala)
If you are from south or mid of kerala, the best route will be through chalakkudi.
Route that you must follow is:
Thrissur/ernakulam> chalakkudi> athirapally> vazhachal checkpost> valparai.
please note that if you are following this route' you will have to cross the vazhachal checkpost before 6:00 pm. traffic wont be allowed through the forest at night times.
If you are from tamilnadu or other parts of kerala, the best route is as follows:
pollachi>40 hair pin bends>karumalai> valparai

valparai at its best

We moved in a pax of 4 into the worlds most unadvertised tourist destination, valparai any expectations. But wha recieved us there was something that was the most unexpected.

This elephant troup was sighted at one of the estates in valparai.

This bison troup was sighted at another valparai estate at about 11: 30 pm.

We were lucky enough to see a lion tailed macaque in the valaprai forest

About valpara

The pollution free heavenly land, valaprai is located above 3500 feet on the anamalai mountain range. Valparai doesnt mean a single town. It contains the majestically spread greean mountains and the forest around it. Valparai is truly incredible.........
